Surface pattern design

Surface pattern design has become a way for me to explore colour, shape, and composition with both precision and playfulness. I work with different methods depending on the desired expression: some patterns begin as hand-drawn ink sketches that are then digitized and refined, others are created entirely digitally — either vector-based or drawn with a digital tool.

What unites them is the desire to create something that works as a whole: a pattern must hold its own, creating rhythm and feeling without becoming either too rigid or too chaotic. I have a love for distinct colour palettes and graphic expressions, but I also often return to organic shapes inspired by nature.
